Position Overview

Strategic thinking and guidance are critical differentiators in the maturity level of Design at Climate. As Climate makes its transformation from a direct to the grower application, to a global platform composed of capabilities the role of UX Architect will be instrumental to us solving ambiguous and large scale problems. You will be responsible for developing the overarching user experience blueprint to be leveraged by Product Teams and Engineering. In addition, you will advise on initial UX proposals with cross-functional teams for new features and functionality.  This role will focus on the next generation of Bayer’s product experiences and how to serve the needs of our customers best. This role allows you to shape the future of customer experiences and create the most impactful work of your career. This role reports to the Head of UX Design at Climate.

Your Seat at the Table

Design has a clear seat at the table and shares the responsibility for product planning, execution, and success. You’ll be looked to as an expert in your field who will be held accountable for the UX of the end-to-end experience.  

What You Will Do:

  • Create experience blueprints and prototypes using human-centered design practices
  • Help define and drive the business strategy in partnership with all functions and leadership
  • Be a change catalyst across the organization
  • Identifying, defining and articulating critical customer problems in the ecosystem
  • Prioritization guidance to focus team members on the most critical work in concert with strategy
  • Model inquiry-based process and customer research best practices
  • Lead brainstorming workshops and co-design activities with internal groups and with customers
  • Understand the value behind product decisions and advocate for solutions that bring both customer benefit and business value
  • Partner with product managers, researchers, engineers, customer success, and data scientists to deliver remarkable customer experiences our customers will love

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a UI or UX designer
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Design, HCI, Human Factors, or a related field/equivalent
  • Experience leading highly complex initiative(s) that works across multiple business units
  • Recognized as an experienced thought-leader and design expert externally
  • Proven success working on concept and production designs for innovative large-scale projects, actively collaborating within a cross-functional team
  • Rock-solid design craft, rationale and a strong point of view
  • Systems thinker; you can think and organize for scale, re-usability, and frameworks
  • Masterful understanding of human-centered design process
  • Extremely comfortable with ambiguity and context switching
  • Excellent public speaker. Able to amplify, simplify, and build emotional connections with an audience through storytelling.
