Fashion Editor, Who What Wear UK at Clique
London, GB

Named to Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list in 2017 and as Digiday's Most Innovative Publisher in 2018 —Who What Wear is looking for a Fashion Editor to join our dynamic, fast-paced and creative environment in central London for a year-long contract.

We are looking for a self-starter with original editorial ideas who will take pride in developing their own franchises and features, and work with the editorial team to shape and build upon our exceptional fashion coverage. The successful candidate will have an ability to spot emerging shopping trends, new brands and cult pieces that our readers will love, and have expert knowledge of the industry and established connections with influencers, PRs, and experts. We are a data-first company, and so the successful candidate needs to be able to analyze what is performing across our business, and then use this to inform all editorial ideas and concepts.

The person in this role must thrive in a collaborative environment, contributing to all areas from affiliate partnerships to commercial projects. We are looking for someone who is confident to be an ambassador for our brand, whether that’s appearing in a team shoot, an Instagram story video or attending industry events. Most importantly, we are looking for a candidate that is just as passionate about our brand as we are.

If you are interested in being part of this exciting opportunity, please send us your CV.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create fashion content of the highest standard across news and features that is both ahead of our competitors and approachable for our audience.
  • Pitch your own features ideas on a weekly basis in addition to the production of SEO-focused, responsive news and your own regular franchises. These ideas are all informed by your ability to spot a trend first, combined with an insight into data and what is performing.
  • Respond to analytics and be independently aware of how each of your stories performs, as well as site-wide content performance, in order to reach the site's overall traffic goals. Help support the editor with ideas for how we can reach our overall traffic and affiliate goals each month.
  • Optimize all content in terms of SEO, social platform translation and engagement.
  • Represent the brand through editor-led shoots and videos on Instagram stories and IGTV, and at industry events, press days/trips and be a source for quotes in order to promote the Who What Wear name in the UK as and when required.
  • Create new contacts and build relationships with influencers and insiders, in order to create content and work on new projects together.
  • Work with the social media editor on social strategies, copy, tone, and imagery.
  • When called upon, work with our commercial team on branded content, brainstorming ideas and delivering campaigns that feel cohesive with our editorial output.
  • Work outside of standard contractual hours on the rare occasion such as fashion week awards season and/or occasional key weekend news stories.

  • Minimum 3 years of editorial fashion experience working in a relevant media company.
  • A creative, collaborative and can-do attitude for a fast-paced, high-growth fash-tech business.
  • Strong attention to detail in everything you do, from creating perfect copy to inputting data into key documents.
  • Exceptional writing skills and high taste level.
  • Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics.
  • Relationships with PRs, influencers, and experts in the fashion industry.
