Program Manager, Education Modernization at Facebook
Menlo Park, CA, US
The Education Modernization team leverages Facebook’s technologies, platforms and expertise to change the learners perceptions of computer science and their potential interest/aptitude for it. The opportunity is great, but so are the challenges. The ideal candidate should be a strategic, creative, detail-oriented multitasker who stays ahead of industry trends in marketing and branding in order to contribute to the visible success of the Education Modernization Team. They will be fully conversant with our educational audiences: teachers, school administrators, students and parents, and have the sensitivity to unify our messaging around this diverse community in ways that foster inclusivity and attract non-computer science communities.

Reporting to the Education Modernization Team Lead, the Program Manager will be responsible for the programmatic success of Engineer for the Week (EFTW), striving to scale a successful experience for learners and facilitators. EFTW is a program for middle and high school students that demystifies the world of tech, empowering youth to build a working tech product while developing computer science skills.

Leading EFTW includes owning the continual improvement of key performance indicators such as growth of program participation, efficacy for learners in the program and satisfaction of participating facilitators. As the program scales, you will also cultivate partnerships and represent the program in the learning community.

A successful Program Manager will have a strategic mindset while leading and developing their team. Building the best team will ensure the program will be delivered successfully and add the highest possible value to our communities.

You will work in a dynamic, start-up like team that brings together engineers, educators and product leaders with a variety of backgrounds and passion for innovating the education space.
