Content Strategist, Education Modernization

The Education Modernization team leverages Facebook’s technologies, platforms and expertise to change the learners perceptions of computer science and their potential interest/aptitude for it. The opportunity is great, but so are the challenges. The ideal candidate should be a strategic, creative, detail-oriented multitasker who stays ahead of industry trends in marketing and branding in order to contribute to the visible success of the Education Modernization Team.
We’re looking for a Content Strategist to partner with our designers, program managers, engineers, and marketers to plan and create the content for our programs, continually improve and evolve our content. They will be fully conversant with our educational audiences: teachers, school administrators, students and parents, and have the sensitivity to unify our messaging around this diverse community in ways that foster inclusivity and attract non-CS communities.
We’re looking for a creative problem solver who is passionate about telling stories and crafting work that is authentic and understands our audiences. This person should have a strong point of view on concept, story and tone on behalf of our programs.
You’re able to plan and author content for transactional emails, education materials, as well as apply consistent standards and elevate the overall quality of our work; enjoy both high-level strategy and hands-on content creation and editing; understand user experience and thrive in a fast-moving organization that uses light-weight process to have a huge impact.
Develop, execute and oversee communications including but not limited to email marketing, web content, talking points, and social media posts from original concept through final implementation with limited oversight
Oversee editorial strategy for multiple audiences across channels
Manage an editorial calendar
Recommend, implement and refine strategies that promote effective delivery of content
Manage development and implementation of digital community strategy to engage educators and learners
Work collaboratively within a cross-functional team with Program Managers, Design, Engineering, and Marketing to establish and refine content strategy that best supports our audiences
Communicate and get cross-functional leadership buy-in on content strategy
Build strategic frameworks for content resource allocation
Maintain consistency with content standards
Understanding/experience of utilizing engagement metrics optimize and make future decisions
3+ years of experience in content strategy, marketing, and/or similar experience
Experience creating content in the nonprofit and/or educational industry
Experience in education content, online content development/production, brand marketing, and/or project management
Experience multitasking on projects across various teams and turning insights into action

Experience running multiple project timelines
Interpersonal skills and ability to develop working relationships inside and outside Facebook
Understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work
Graphics and video design experience
Marketing Cloud and/or Salesforce experience
Able to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
Meticulous attention to detail and proofreading ability
Experience with marketing platforms such as Google Analytics, Pardot, or Marketo
