Product Marketing Manager, VR Gaming

The AR/VR Product Marketing team is seeking an individual who is passionate about building and marketing innovative VR games and experiences that inspire new gaming audiences to discover Oculus VR platforms. This position will join a team responsible for product marketing of second and third party gaming products (e.g. Robo Recall, Beat Saber, Echo VR), working closely with partnerships, performance marketing, and producers, while providing direction for future investment in new VR game titles and genres and go-to-market and growth strategy for games in our portfolio. The right person can effectively be both strategic and execution-oriented, and is analytical and creative. They are good at building consensus and influencing others through strong marketing strategy, but are not afraid to dive into the details, and they should have a passion for gaming and bringing games to a broad and diverse audience. This product marketing team is focused on the inbound phase of product marketing and strategy to inform outbound marketing with internal partners. Inbound product marketing responsibilities include up front analysis to identify market needs by segment, opportunity and audience sizing, product positioning and key messaging, content portfolio strategy, channel marketing strategy, and being the “voice of the user”. Outbound strategy will cover campaigns end-to-end, coming up with the mix and execution to highlight and promote the games that will bring new users to our platform.
Create a product marketing strategy to identify opportunities to grow the VR audience through creation, acquisition and promotion of VR games.
Drive effective and scalable partnership and co-marketing planning with key third party partners and IP publishers.
Partner effectively with Product Management and broader marketing teams to lead successful product marketing communications and go-to-market plans around key game titles, and clearly communicate value propositions of new products to channel marketing and brand teams.
Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights from research and analysis to select key titles to promote, influence the partnerships strategy and inform game portfolio positioning, go-to-market plans, creative assets, and campaigns.
Partner with others on the content marketing team to inform the overall long term VR content strategy.
3+ years of marketing or product experiences and experience bringing the 'voice of the user' into product development
Experience working in the video game industry
Consumer marketing experience
Communication experience across functions (e.g., creative teams, legal, policy, marketing, partnerships, ops)
Experience creating market requirement documents, including audience definition, positioning statements and defined value proposition
Experience independently running launch or go-to-market campaigns for game titles, releases, or features
Analytical and problem-solving experience
Effectiveness working independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and fluid environment, with the ability to adapt, spot issues early, and escalate
Balance of creative and analytic thinking, putting forth best-in-class execution within a measurable and data-driven framework
Passion for and understanding of Virtual or Augmented reality
