Chief of Staff to CEO at Zuora
San Mateo, CA, US

For the last 100 years, companies have operated primarily under a product-centric business model, where the goal was to make, ship, and sell more units. Today, there’s a demand to have products and services delivered on a continual, subscription basis; to upgrade and access new innovations and features constantly. This is the end of ownership and it changes everything. Our vision is “The World Subscribed” where one day every company will be a part of the Subscription Economy® (a phrase coined by our CEO, Tien Tzuo).

Zuora’s leading, cloud-based software solution automates all subscription order-to-revenue operations in real-time for any business. Companies in any industry can launch new businesses, shift products to subscription, implement new pay-as-you-go pricing and packaging models, gain new insights into subscriber behavior, and disrupt market segments to gain competitive advantage.

Our growth story is only just beginning and we’re looking for a highly collaborative and strategically minded professional looking for their next big opportunity to make a huge impact supporting our founder and CEO, Tien.

Tien, widely recognized as one of the thought leaders in the software-as-a-service industry, founded Zuora in 2007 after serving as Chief Strategy Officer at salesforce.com. As Zuora’s CEO, he’s evangelized the shift to subscription-based business models and the complex structures they inherit, coining the phrase and literally writing the book on the Subscription Economy. Employees describe his leadership style as pragmatic, visionary, inspiring and authentic. Plus, Glassdoor gives him a 90% CEO approval rating.

As the Chief of Staff, you will be charged with building alignment on strategic initiatives with Tien and Zuora’s executive team operationalizing, planning, and executing strategic programs for the office of the CEO. You’ll be the thought partner for our CEO; ensuring no meeting will be adjourned without a clear and concise action plan furthering Tien’s and the company’s objectives. You’ll be a pivotal player, tasked with using your creativity, initiative, operational savvy and resolve to ensure the team is well positioned to execute.
