We are seeking a results-driven, inspired, and modern-day HR professional to provide solutions to employee-related challenges while maintaining the balance between strategic partnerships and employee championship.  

You will serve as the face of the People organization at our New York office while reporting to the Head of People, Culture & Organization based at our headquarters in Los Angeles. In this highly visible and key role, you will provide an array of HR services across the business with a particular focus on our employees in Media Revenue, Marketing, and Advertising. You will also bring your love and experience in the field of Learning & Development to be the driver of our company-wide employee development programs that will take our company to the next level.

Essential duties include (but are not limited to): 

  • Develop an understanding of business operations and objectives to assure People- priorities and activities are strategically aligned with the needs of the company. 
  • Act as a catalyst behind the development and implementation of company-wide People initiatives and general policies; 
  • Serve as a single point of HR contact for a key, client-facing division of the business with limited remote support from HQ; 
  • Proactively gain and leverage an understanding of the business and its strategy to assess and anticipate talent-related issues, develop solutions and engage the broader team and HR management as appropriate;
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure employee and business needs are met, focusing on organizational design, change leadership, talent acquisition;
  • Recommend, develop, and implement new People/ HR processes as required to grow the business;
  • Coach employees and managers on employee relations including change management, performance management, policy infractions, and workplace conflict; coordinating with legal counsel as necessary; 
  • Influence business and talent initiatives that support our short and long-term business goals, including driving practices that enable high performance and operational excellence;
  • Act as catalyst/point advisory to management teams in settling work-related problems that can affect morale and productivity; 
  • Act as an executive coach for key clients and leaders; hold a high bar for leadership values and behaviors;
  • Influence and/or deploy practices to increase employee engagement and satisfaction;
  • Manage the local Organization team to include office and administrative based employees and contractors to keep the business running operationally;

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years minimum experience in Human Resources to include at least 1 year of experience as a manager. Background as a Human Resources Business Partner, Senior HR Generalist, or Field HR Manager in fashion, technology, e-commerce, or related industries is preferred. 
  • Experience in the area of Learning & Development strongly preferred.
  • Experience designing and deploying HR systems and processes.
  • Experience with core HR domains across the entire employee lifecycle, including performance management, organizational design, talent management, compensation, and employee relations. 
  • Ability to coach leaders on personal and team development, experience influencing and advising executive leadership on talent and employment matters
  • Proven ability to analyze situations, conceptualize solutions and communicate effectively 
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant Federal and local employment law (e.g. FMLA, ADA, STD, etc.) – State of New York is required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as HR management) is strongly preferred, but a combination of experience an education can be considered.
