Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Director of Total Rewards serves a critical role on our HR team. She/he will have the opportunity to hone our total rewards strategy and continue to build competitive and creative total rewards programs. We are looking for an innovative thinker who will lead all activities in designing and managing compensation, benefits and recognition programs in order to attract, motivate, and retain a high performing workforce. The successful candidate will focus on analysis, design, implementation and communication of all corporate-wide total rewards programs. Our Company is experiencing a period of high growth that will necessitate on-going evaluation of our total rewards programs to accommodate this growth and diversity of our workforce. The role requires that the individual “roll up his/her sleeves” while also being able to zoom out and think strategically.

What will you be doing?
  • Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of the Company’s compensation, benefits and other recognition programs
  • Spearhead market data initiatives, preparing competitive benchmarking analysis as required for base, incentive compensation, and equity
  • Design and ensure a robust evaluation methodology for job profiles, families, and leveling.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of compensation programs, including internal equity and competitive structures, recommending modifications as appropriate
  • Together with our compensation consultant, assist in the preparation of executive compensation recommendations to the Compensation Committee of the Board
  • Monitor and evaluate the Company’s benefits program including insurances, 401k plan, wellness programs, sick leave, time off and vacation policies
  • Participate in negotiation of agreements with insurance carriers and financial institutions for administration of benefits programs
  • Spearhead annual compensation and benefits planning process, including merit, bonus, equity plans and open enrollment.
  • Create and conduct training for managers and employees.
  • Monitor competitive trends for all total rewards programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors/brokers.
 What are we looking for?
  • Bachelors or Masters degree preferably in a business or finance discipline
  • 12 plus years of HR experience with a minimum of five years in total rewards
  • Broad compensation and benefits expertise with a mix of operational and strategic focus
  • Success in designing compensation and benefit programs for a changing economy and possess a thorough knowledge of best practices, policy & legal landscape and trends
  • Prior experience in the biopharmaceutical industry highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Radford Biotechnology Surveys and Workday HRIS System highly desirable
  • Experience with international employee programs is a true plus
  • Excellent written and oral communications, Microsoft Office Suite and project management skills
