The Facebook AR/VR group brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. To date, our product portfolio includes Oculus VR and Portal from Facebook.
We are currently seeking a Creative Director/Art Director for the Oculus Creative Marketing Team to partner with art directors, designers, copywriters, producers, researchers, and product marketers to develop creative on behalf of the Oculus brand, ensuring a consistent visual language and identity through all touch points. This person must have a strong background in art direction (agency or client-side). This person also must be a highly strategic thinker with a proven track record for leading efforts to execute across film, social media, web, retail, packaging, OOH, and events.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the gaming industry, preferably with both hardware and software launches. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative, unstructured environment is critical. This person must be comfortable guiding teams, agencies and/or production partners, but should be willing to roll up their sleeves to do the work when necessary.
This is a full-time position based in our Menlo Park office.
Oversee the strategy and creative direction of consumer facing Oculus marketing creative
Further develop the creative visual and audio identity of the Oculus brand
Manage development of executions that strongly resonate with a range of audiences while maintaining consistency for the brand
Develop original breakthrough ideas for a variety of marketing touch-points
Work cross-functionally, balancing the needs of stakeholders and breaking down complex narratives into simple, compelling ideas
Create and sustain a culture of excellence as a beloved leader of designers, illustrators, copywriters, animators and partnering with producers, program managers, and product marketing managers
Inspiring, enabling, and energizing a world-class creative team
8+ years experience as a creative leader
Experience developing and managing consumer marketing programs in an integrated marketing environment
Experience working with data & insights
Experience overseeing creative teams and/or agencies
Experience creating work on behalf of gaming clients for gaming communities
Experience across the full palette of creative expression: traditional, digital (including products), experiential, and ideas that drive earned media
Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners
