Messenger is one of the most popular products in the world for people to connect and interact. It is used by over 1.3 billion people monthly for text/photo/video messages, audio/video calls, connecting with businesses, interacting with a thriving ecosystem of third-party automated experiences and much more.

Messenger is creating meaningful ways for businesses and people to communicate with each other. We are seeking an experienced leader and strategic thinker to help build these experiences, and to deliver value to businesses while delighting people.

This leader will build and manage a product marketing team focused on driving growth and building a sustainable set of global business solutions on Messenger. You'll drive market requirements into product planning to help businesses communicate with our online audience to achieve their goals. The successful candidate is both data-driven and has the ability to synthesize market trends in advertising, customer support and other related business models, and can effectively work with colleagues across the company to prioritize and drive results. The right person can drive both strategy and execution, is analytical and creative, loves leading and developing a team, and cares deeply about making Messenger into a platform that every business understands the value to find and engage audiences.

Inbound product marketing responsibilities include foundational analysis to identify market needs by segment, opportunity sizing, gathering deep feedback from internal and external stakeholders, being the “voice of the business”, and running alpha and beta testing processes. Outbound product marketing responsibilities include leading launch planning including associated messaging and positioning. Key skills include: Team leadership and people development; Analytical; Insights-driven strategy and prioritization; Product lifecycle management and roadmapping; Cross-functional relationships and influence. This role is highly cross-functional and will work closely with Product/Engineering, Research, Sales, Marketing Science, Business Marketing, PR, Operations.

This position is full-time and based in Menlo Park, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES

    Lead a team of Product Marketing Managers who own market assessment, quantitative analysis, qualitative feedback, and represent the needs of businesses internally with Product Management and Engineering teams
  •  
     
    Demonstrate a strong understanding of the broader messaging ecosystem (including WhatsApp) and competitive landscape to develop strategic product feedback and positioning
  •  
     
    Determine product requirements for a diverse set of businesses (including SMBs and large businesses, as well as advertisers and operators) to inform product development across FB
  •  
     
    Partner with Product Management and marketing communications teams to lead successful product marketing communications around test and launch phases and clearly communicate value propositions and of new products to go-to-market teams. A large part of the role is spearheading efforts across multiple teams to ensure cohesive and integrated execution to hit goals

    Strategically frame decisions to enable executive leadership decision-making and alignment
  •  
     
    Navigate ambiguity and catch unanticipated issues that arise along the way and see them through to resolution
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  •  
     
    BA/BS degree
  •  
     
    10+ years working experience in a consulting, product marketing or strategy capacity
  •  
     
    Demonstrated experience partnering with product management and/or engineering to represent market requirements and working with GTM teams to support product launches
  •  
     
    Advertising, media or other B2B experience, including web and mobile technologies both in US and globally
  •  
     
    Quantitative analytical experience and strategic communicator
