We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join the Netskope Labs Advanced Research group to help accelerate growth through innovation. This Advanced Research group is responsible for the research and prototyping of emerging technologies and key future investments. You will be well suited to this role if you are a passionate engineer who is excited about incubating and advocating for products and features that fulfill longer term strategic visions and gaps.


  • Partner with the CTO and other leaders to identify products and features that will be strategically important to the company’s mission and vision
  • Define, architect, and prototype solutions as a POC for further investment considerations
  • Review, advocate, and implement solutions and designs across the engineering organization
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for large-scale distributed cloud-native solutions.
  • Be a catalyst for improving engineering processes and ownership.
  • Research, incubate, and drive new technologies to ensure we are leveraging the latest innovations.


  • 12+ years of industry experience building highly scalable solutions
  • Experience working with stakeholders and advising on emerging technologies
  • Proven experience architecting and delivering cloud microservices at scale
  • Expert understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms
  • A skilled problem solver well-versed in considering and making technical tradeoffs
  • A strong communicator who can quickly pick up new concepts and domains


  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree (MS Preferred)
