Strategy and Planning Analyst at Groupon

As a Strategy and Planning Analyst your role will be responsible to execute online business initiatives and merchandising strategies to increase overall revenue, conversion and customer engagement. We are looking for someone passionate about data, a strategic thinker and collaborative partner, required to work cross-functionally in a fasted-paced environment.       

 

Responsibilities:

  • Use data-driven insights to deliver financial targets for the business, identifying and prioritizing strategic initiatives to optimize business performance
  • Guide sales strategy with analyses and action plans to drive revenue strategies. Support sales leadership in merchant negotiations, team’s actions plans, building account plans and supporting sales teams throughout the sales cycle.  
  • Own management of the Merchandising Strategy and all initiatives related. Create JP merchandising calendar and campaigns, curate and select inventory and target lists, analyze results, control schedule and shopping/occasions creation.
  • Control and analyze all the category/inventory management of Groupon products ( control live inventory, values, pricing, margins, coverage, stock. Approve and advise deal structures and contracts).

 

We expect you to have:

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills required
  • Desire prior experience in a similar merchandising, strategy, commercial or planning role preferably in eCommerce / Retail / Start-up 
  • Excited by working with data, measuring performance, and making objective decisions based on quantitative and/or deductive reasoning
  • Self-starter, fast learner, adaptive to fast-paced working environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability and confidence to succinctly convey complex information
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel knowledge 
  • English and Japanese are mandatory
