Software UX Research Manager
Menlo Park, CA, US
Apply for this job
At Facebook, we're building the next generation of devices and experiences that make people feel closer together, which we call Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR). The ARVR organization includes Oculus and Portal products, as well as other hardware; AR and VR software, content and research and development labs.
We are looking for an experienced UX Researcher Manager with strong communication and people skills to focus on software development for the Oculus product line. Strong candidates will demonstrate a rigorous approach to UX research methods as well as have experience shipping consumer software and hardware. In particular, we value researchers with experience in standard generative and evaluative UX research methods, but who also have a history of taking a creative approach to answering new questions about humans’ interaction and experience with technology. While strong candidates will have experience partnering with product teams throughout the development process (early user needs research to post-ship UX research), we are looking for researchers with strong front end, generative research skills, plus demonstrated capability in driving insights into actionable, measurable product UX goals. You will work with multi-disciplinary hardware and software teams to push the boundaries of what is possible in AR/VR. Ultimately, your expertise and ingenuity in research must do more than just contribute to knowledge – you must also be skilled at driving measurable positive impact on the product and user experience.
You are a strong people leader with great executive presence. You can hold your own, defend your ideas and articulate your point of view clearly and concisely. You thrive on building a strong culture of research and helping your people to the next level in their careers. We value people who can work cross-functionally, see the big picture but also get down into the details.
