We are looking for a Data Systems Software Engineer to join our growing development team here in San Francisco. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker who understands industry best practices and has experience with multiple coding languages- and is comfortable asking “why?”.  They are a team player possessing strong analytical as well as technical skills and are able to communicate the logic behind technical decisions to non-tech stakeholders. They must be comfortable working in an agile environment and have the ability to “take the wheel” when necessary. 

 

You have…

  • The knowledge and know-how to think about scalable solutions to problems
  • The ability to learn new technologies and methodologies. Adaptable to new challenges.
  • The ability to break down complex problems into smaller, simpler, more manageable ones
  • Experience working with distributed systems
  • Experience working with external APIs
  • Experience writing both unit and integration tests
  • The ability to work autonomously

Bonus points if you have: 

  • Familiar or experience with machine learning libraries, tools, or algorithms
  • Experience with graph databases such as Neo4j
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience working with / deploying software on Linux
  • Working with a distributed team
  • Understanding of REST principles
