Product Design Intern, AR/VR at Facebook

Join a team of designers who are passionate about creating a cutting-edge VR experience and establishing Oculus as an industry leader. As a Product Design Intern, you will be assisting team leaders in every aspect of the product development process, from conceptualizing the next generation of the VR platform (PC & Mobile), to designing incremental features, to working on our newly announced Horizon VR product. You’ll tackle critical questions around what interactions look and feel like in 2D, VR of today and for the future. You will be expected to use your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills to explore, iterate, and drive a wide area of the Oculus experience. You’ll be responsible for designing, researching, prototyping, and creating assets as well as providing UI documentation to optimize the product design workflow.

PRODUCT DESIGN INTERN, AR/VR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Transform broad and ambiguous business requirements into user-focused features and experiences
  • Contribute to and collaborate with a talented multi-disciplinary team to deliver timely, high level features
  • Advocate for product design within the Oculus company and throughout Facebook
  • Design end-to-end flows, visuals and individually contribute to the product and feature set
  • Clearly articulate design decisions to cross-functional teams and product leadership
  • Partner with design leads to quickly identify and solve problems
  • Create and maintain feature and process documentation
  • Craft detailed pixel perfect designs
  • Think holistically across all of Oculus’ products and how every product interacts with one another
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree in a design related technical field
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
  • Proficiency in Adobe suite, Sketch, or mobile prototyping tools (Origami, InVision etc)
  • Experience with designing mobile apps and mobile web
  • Experience designing experiences and prototypes in 3d engines (Unity, Unreal, or equivalent)
  • A portfolio featuring examples of both visual and interaction work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
  • Game Development Experience
