Reporting to the Portfolio & Project Manager, the IT Technical Project Manager is a key player in making IT projects happen in one of the fastest growing companies in Montreal. Far from being a paper pusher, this person is directly involved in the action, leading the delivery of multiple IT Cloud based systems, & telecommunication projects, from initiation to delivery. Essential Responsibilities

  • Evaluate projects and ensure proper methodology is applied based on requirements and constraints (Agile Scrum/Kanban, Waterfall)
  • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle from initiation through delivery with a hands-on technical approach
  • Spearhead projects to ensure constant traction and timely delivery in a hyper-growth, fast-pace environment facing competing priorities
  • Build and develop business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Remove ambiguity by connecting with external teams or individuals so projects progress as scheduled
  • Proactively manage project scope, identify scope changes and impacts, assess options and make recommendations
  • Establish, communicate and manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders
  • Protect the team and remove blockers/impediments that hinder project progress
  • Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration from all stakeholders, from technical subject matter experts to business users
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools and in conjunction with agreed-upon deliverables
  • Work in partnership with multiple teams to align projects dependencies and identify opportunity of synergies
  • Provide status reports to portfolio managers and other executive stakeholders on a consistent basis


  • University degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution or equivalent experience
  • Solid technical expertise (SaaS, Networking, Contact Center Telephony, Security & Access Management)
  • Minimum five-year experience managing technical projects with an international user base
  • Ability to think laterally and identify creative solution to complex problems
  • Strong knowledge of both Agile (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall methods
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as JIRA,
  • Adaptable and flexible to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong service-oriented skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure work environment
  • Strong and proven risk management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several projects concurrently
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
