Groupon are seeking an energetic and charismatic leader to head up Coupons for the UK/IE markets to support the growth of the global reach network. The successful candidate will have experience managing cross-functional teams and be an expert at motivating employees and rallying towards a common goal. The role will work closely will the Global Head of Coupons and the Global Coupons Operations Director to deliver a market leading local strategy leveraging the resources and expertise in the global team. 


The individual will be the go to person driving success in the market calling on support from heads of teams across; marketing, account management,  partnerships, content ops and technical and product teams with expert local knowledge of performance drivers and the competitive landscape. We are seeking a strong team player who can be the face of coupons internationally and have a history of running successful and motivated teams.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Be the face of UK/IE coupons building strong relationships with networks, agencies and merchants with an extensive network of industry contacts.
  • Report on actual and outlook vs projection and have detailed knowledge of  performance drivers across the business.
  • Be the key stakeholder internally for UK/IE coupons ensuring requirements are met and placing demands on the business to support local strategy.
  • Manage cross-functional teams across marketing, account management, content operations, business intelligence and external suppliers.
  • Be an excellent problem solver supporting a large team.
  • Drive the strategic plan for growth and identify commercial opportunities.
  • Coordinate a coherent strategy across teams towards transparent common goals.
  • Lead the recruitment of senior members of the team.
  • Detailed local knowledge of the competitive landscape.

  • Experience leading large cross-functional teams.
  • Experience setting successful KPIs and managing team performance.
  • Experience building teams and hiring senior team members.
  • Excellent commercial aptitude able to understand performance drivers at a high level
  • Attention to detail and knowledge of merchant relationships.
  • Digital marketing experience and high level knowledge across marketing channels.
  • A strategic and methodical approach with excellent management skills.
  • An excellent internal communicator able to gain support for initiatives.
  • Extensive network and industry contacts.
  • Experience managing agencies and external suppliers
  • Able to demonstrate the behaviours of Groupon’s Values and Leader Habits
  • Extensive digital experience required
  • Experience running a business unit a plus
  • Proven people development and management experience 
  • Coupon experience required
  • Affiliate experience a plus
  • Performance marketing experience a plus
  • PPC (paid search) knowledge required
  • SEO knowledge preferred 
  • International business experience required
