As a part of our HR team, you will partner with HR Business Partners and employees to support the growth and change that we see every single day at Groupon. We work in various Centers of Excellence across the globe and collaborate together to build from scratch and provide guidance to our partners around the organization.  Our team is nimble, impactful, and creative, and we focus on building successful relationships and delivering value across the entire company. 

As an HR Generalist, you will be on the front lines helping identify, resolve and escalate issues going on in the business that need our support.  A big part of this role will be supporting local employee groups as well as coaching and advising Managers on ER matters. You will primarily support our Spanish office however you will be part of a wider EMEA Delivery team supporting various offices across the region as needed.  You will also get a chance to contribute to partner with our HR leaders on EMEA wide HR process improvement project and people initiatives.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • You will triage internal HR matters, including employee queries, employee relations issues and investigations.
  • You will provide solutions to employees and educate on self-service options available
  • Provide HR policy guidance in partnership with managers to resolve employee relations issues
  • Coach managers on performance management discussions,discipline matters, and promotion/transfer/termination discussions
  • Support our HR leaders and legal team in maintaining policies and procedures while also helping others to navigate these resources partner with our HR leaders in order to deliver our people strategies, looking for continuous improvement opportunities via streamlining and automation
  • Partner with line of business HR leaders in order to support with people programs rollouts within office location (performance reviews, employee surveys etc)
  • Handle requests related to benefits, vendor management, unemployment, internal transfers, immigration, relocation, onboarding, HR website maintenance, reporting, and training
  • Partner with HRSS team to support with on-boarding and off-boarding processes, specifically to support with International relocations
  • Partner with our HR leaders on EMEA wide process improvement projects and initiatives


We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 2-4 years previous HR Generalist experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Speak Spanish plus C1 level in English and Italian
  • Experience with HRIS systems, specifically Workday, preferred but not required
  • Skilled in Google Suite (Docs, Calendar, Sheets, Mail)
  • Ability to demonstrate strong coaching skills   
  • You have a passion for the experience you provide your customers - and can diffuse even high-tension situations with ease
  • You're a self-starter, and not afraid to fail
  • You know that the details matter and a demonstrable ability to multitask
  • You're adaptable and can think on your feet; when faced with new challenges or tough conversations, you face them head-on
