Groupon, Inc. is looking for a Merchandising Data Analyst to join our team in Chicago, IL.

How you'll spend your day:

  • You will use data to identify and prioritize strategic initiatives to optimize sales performance
  • Use data for the purposes of: sourcing new supply, modifying existing supply and getting deals in front of customers
  • Develop signals from internal and external data sources to be used to analyze supply quality and quantity
  • Analyze key performance metrics across different channels of distribution for Groupon (web, mobile), category and sub category level portfolio
  • Build and maintain dashboards, queries and larger system jobs for analytical use within the team and more broadly within the Goods organization
  • Institute rigorous test and learn methodology to achieve desired results
  • Create and manage processes for sourcing and merchandising with teams including: buying, marketing, operations, data science
  • Streamline existing processes using automation, and look for other efficiency opportunities throughout process flows
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to align sourcing, merchandising and distribution strategies with feature development, and provide data inputs from the Goods business where relevant
  • Partner with key teams to define near, mid and long term implications of key analyses including Product, Engineering, Merchandising, Finance and others
  • Use SQL to create automated data pipelines to help draw business insights related to the supply chain funnel
  • Use business process improvement skills to map current state of supply chain and worked on strategic projects to improve the efficiency of the process
  • Design and develop database systems to be used by business owners through the application of supply chain domain knowledge and data analysis skills
  • Apply statistical knowledge and principles to designing and running AB test experiments

 

We’re excited about you if you have the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, plus 3 years related experience.
  • Any level of experience with using SQL to create automated data pipelines to help draw business insights related to the supply chain funnel
  • Any level of experience with using business process improvement skills to map current state of supply chain and worked on strategic projects to improve the efficiency of the process
  • Any level of experience with designing and developing database systems to be used by business owners through the application of supply chain domain knowledge and data analysis skills
  • Any level of experience with applying statistical knowledge and principles to designing and running AB test experiments
