We are looking for a Senior Manager of Decision Sciences to drive revenue growth for the Groupon business. This person will lead efforts to drive optimization of key decision engines via data-driven insights. This individual is tasked with leveraging data-driven insights to guide decision engine, data and insights, and experimentation roadmaps and prioritization across key areas of focus. This individual will also be responsible for ensuring synchronicity of decision engines across areas to promote alignment with brand and customer-centric strategic focuses. To be successful, this individual will be proven to be passionate, results-driven, creative and analytic as well as someone who is excited to deliver insights and drive business optimization. This individual should enjoy analytics, collaboration, and seeking out - and executing on - opportunities. Given the speed of the business, the role requires the ability to manage across multiple revenue opportunities as well as the ability to engage in robust “big picture” conversations across stakeholders, functional team members, and management.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive optimization of decision engines and/or core foundational elements within specific business focus areas
  • Shape long term decision engine, data, modeling, and insights strategy and drive plans that ultimately enable a more cohesive consumer experience
  • Provide analytics that enable actionable, data-driven insights as well as guidance for prioritizing strategic product initiatives
  • Use data-driven insights to guide decision engine and foundational roadmaps and priorities across key areas of focus (e.g., pricing, promotions, marketing spend, attribution, etc.)
  • Partner closely with product and engineering teams to integrate business-driving insights and data into decision engines
  • Lead optimization of decision engines with a focus on maximizing toward optimal objective function at a consumer level
 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience, preferably in Revenue Management, Revenue Optimization, Ecommerce Analytics / Insights
  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Business, Computer Science, or similar; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
  • Significant experience driving decision science / engine optimization efforts (e.g., pricing, promotions, recommendations, etc.)
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives – preferably working with Product / Engineering and business teams
  • Significant experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Microstrategy, Cognos, or similar) and scalable analytics solutions
  • Ability to execute on near term priorities while driving toward long term vision in a highly agile environment
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability and confidence to succinctly convey complex information to senior management
