General Manager, Navigation and Driver Experience, Mapbox, Inc., San Francisco, CA. Plan, direct, and coordinate operations of the Navigation and Driver Experience team for Mapbox. Lead and drive key strategic decisions around product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market across our product portfolio. Review project plans to organize and coordinate project activity. Employ a customer centric and data backed approach to product development, market entry and expansion. Lead client interactions, partnerships, and other relationships that will spearhead global market adoption. Manage engineering, design, and other resources needed to efficiently ship products that will continue to revolutionize within the industry. Partner with executive team and explore further ways to innovate and expand our Navigation and Driver Experience market footprint. Stay abreast of advances in technology and develop roadmap based on the trends and customer needs. Develop and interpret team’s organizational goals, policies, and procedures. Hire and develop high caliber and high performing individuals, and continue to build team as product scales. Communicate product roadmap across executive team and the organization. Take ownership of profit and loss for the Navigation and Driver Experience service. Define and execute go-to-market plans for each product line, including positioning, messaging, sales support collateral, and sales tools. Will supervise 2 engineering managers and 2 product managers.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

Must have a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a related field, plus eight (8) years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in broad product management. Of the required experience, must have six (6) years of experience in each of the following (which may be gained concurrently):

  • Utilizing in-depth technical knowledge in software design and algorithms to lead product management team and manage product managers and engineers;
  • Managing the product lifecycle for mobile and service applications from inception to launch;
  • Conducting competitive market analysis of application technologies and feature offerings;
  • Managing development lifecycle for next-generation features, including conducting strategic planning, tactical definition, and delivery;
  • Overseeing feature definition, implementation, end-user testing, and go-to market activities;
  • Coordinating development, design, and test engineering teams to ensure accurate and timely experience delivery; and
  • Identifying opportunities for new features, applications, and services.
