Software Engineer, Video Ingestion at Facebook

SOFTWARE ENGINEER, VIDEO INGESTION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the definition and implementation of media ingestion pipeline
  • Build video ingest, streaming and notification pipelines
  • Improve video experience on Facebook by optimizing performance and focus on scale and reliability of the service
  • Build support for transfer protocols like HTTP, SFTP, etc. and improve video upload latency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS, MS or PhD in CS, EE or related field
  • 4+ years experience in file transfer protocols or computer networking
  • Experience with software development processes including: source control, bug tracking and design documentation
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally between groups with different video technologies and pipelines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with transfer protocols like HTTP, SFTP, Aspera, etc.
  • Experience with use of TCP/UDP/IP, HTTP, traffic routing and related protocols in computer networking
  • Experience with software services, web and cloud technologies
