We are a team of Accountants within the Controller organization who own all Revenue accounting and other miscellaneous functions of Zillow Group’s Internet, Media and Technology (IMT) business segment, as well as assist in the implementation of financial and billing processes related to new products and revenue streams. We work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment and work directly with teams throughout the Finance organization (including Financial Reporting, Tax, Technical Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and FP&A), as well as Engineering, Sales, Ad Operations, Billing Applications, and Corporate Applications teams across various product lines. Specifically, our team is responsible for:

•    Completing month-end close responsibilities including preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules 
•    Participating in the annual audit and quarterly reviews performed by our auditors, including revenue walkthroughs and the preparation of PBCs 
•    Finance integration of new products, including the creation of new processes and GL close activities and ensuring SOX readiness

About the role

Zillow Group is looking for an enthusiastic and can-do Accountant to join the IMT Accounting Team, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager. This position requires knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, an interest in revenue accounting, and motivation to contribute to a rapidly evolving business. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and an eagerness to learn.

Specifically, the role will:

  • Prepare monthly revenue journal entries and reconciliations
  • Lead investigations into and prepare flux analysis for certain product lines
  • Assist in testing and documenting business initiatives impacting revenue lines
  • Assist in documenting system and process changes

Who you are

  • BA/BS with a concentration in Finance or Accounting
  • 2+ years’ experience in public accounting, mid-to-large sized tech or high-growth company
  • Audit or Internal Audit experience, desirable
  • Experience with a month-end close process
  • Experience using advanced Excel functions, with an interest and aptitude to work with large amounts of data
  • CPA, with a working knowledge of GAAP, a plus
  • Revenue accounting experience, a plus
  • Zuora (subscription billing software) experience, a plus
  • Workday Financial Management experience, a plus
