Staff Accountant, ZCS at Zillow

We are looking for a hardworking and committed Staff Accountant to join the Zillow Closing Services (ZCS) accounting team. This team is responsible for the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to management, business partners, and other stakeholders across the organization. In addition, this team will act as a partner to the ZCS business, providing accounting guidance and working collaboratively to build automated processes and system solutions that allow the team to scale with the business. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and excited for an opportunity to help build a new business venture from the ground up.

What you’ll do
• Participate in the monthly and quarterly ZCS close process, ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of financial results in accordance with US GAAP
• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations
• Assist with investigations into and preparing support for balance sheet and P&L variance analysis
• Help build and document processes in a new business venture
• Partner between Finance and various business stakeholders
• Operate SOX controls as necessary
• Provide support to our external auditors in connection with quarterly reviews and annual audit

About the role

  • BA/BS with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in public accounting, mid-to-large sized tech, or high-growth company
  • Experience with the Title & Escrow industry preferred
  • Desire to help build processes from the ground up in a brand-new business venture
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced, rapidly-evolving and data driven organization
  • CPA is a plus
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Workday Financial Management experience, a plus
