Infinera is searching for an individual to work as a Hardware Test Engineer within the New Production Introduction Group (NPI) on development and introduction of new Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC)-based telecommunication products at the systems level.

Description

Infinera is searching for an individual to work as a Hardware Test Engineer within the New Production Introduction Group (NPI) on development and introduction of new Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC)-based telecommunication products at the systems level.  This position will require someone proficient with accessing and analyzing data from SQL databases as well as someone with a strong EE background.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design, test, controls, reliability, and manufacturing groups to define calibration methods and performance screens
  • Define test methodology, document test plans, and ensure customer level specifications are met
  • Ensure product performance by analyzing data from a SQL database
  • Ensure client-side performance requirements are met including Serdes
  • Perform statistical data analysis on large data sets to characterize and improve the product
  • Support quality analysis and evaluation of development, proto, and pilot units
  • Drive improvements in product quality during pilot ramp

 Position Requirements

  • M.S. degree + 4 years experience (electronics, electro-optics), Materials Science, Photonics, or Physics (optics, semiconductors) or equivalent
  • Past experience with data analysis (using JMP a plus)
  • Experience with Analog / Digital communications including Serdes
  • Aptitude to work with a large body of data, perform statistical analysis, and present data and ideas to a diverse audience
  • Team oriented with ability to work cross-functionally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
