Pinterest is one of the fastest growing online advertising platforms and our continued success depends on scaling our Ads API, the backend services that support it, and the databases that underpin it’s serving. We’re rebuilding our ads management and reporting platform to handle 1000x our current scale while also allowing our eng teams to iterate rapidly on new features. You’ll help us develop the Ads API platform that will deliver world class rich set of features, user experience, performance to our advertisers. You'll join a small team, working on multiple critical functional areas.

What you'll do:

  • Define the vision for Ads API platform that improves advertiser experience, and guide the team in executing against the vision
  • Build, optimize and scale next-generation Ads API platform to achieve greater performance, scalability, and developer velocity
  • Responsible for the platform that backs all Pinterest Ads APIs as well as ads management and reporting APIs and their dependent backend services/storages
  • Work with engineering and product stakeholders to drive end-to-end solutions

What we're looking for:

  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience with distributed systems, transactional datastores, and systems programming
  • Experience in building and owning critical user-facing API platform and corresponding backend data systems, and solving complex design, scaling, latency, or performance problems in high-volume low-latency distributed systems
  • Ads domain expertise in ads product
  • Proficiency in at least python or java
