Product Strategy Lead, New Product Experimentation (NPE)

The Product Strategy's mission is to make Facebook the best product strategic decision-making company. We support Facebook to most effectively allocate resources by providing a holistic understanding of our products, markets, and our relative advantages. We do so by closely monitoring the key trends driving our business and industry forward, translating those into actionable insights for the strategic direction of the long-term product roadmap, and influencing the relevant teams to maximize impact for Facebook.
This specific role will lead Product Strategy for the New Product Experimentation (NPE) organization. NPE was developed to generate a pipeline of new applications and experiences, and responsible for generating and nurturing true “zero to one” ideas that can change people’s lives and everyday experiences. A key focus for the NPE team is on creating product experiences that help fulfill the Facebook mission, creating community and bringing the world closer together. These are exciting and rapidly evolving spaces requiring a candidate that can quickly assess new opportunities and translate them into product insights and recommendations (often based on imperfect data from multiple sources). This role is highly cross-functional and requires influencing executive leadership across the business.
Product Strategy Lead, New Product Experimentation (NPE) Responsibilities
Serve as the key strategic thought partner to the Head of NPE and his leadership team on system-level strategic topics. These include: (1) product innovation and entrepreneurship best practices, particularly in large-scale corporate settings, (2) portfolio prioritization, and (3) trends and new market opportunities
Connect the dots between NPE and the rest of Facebook. This includes (1) identifying prior work, thinking and analysis across Facebook that may be relevant to NPE, (2) disseminate learnings from NPE across Facebook, so that the Family of Apps may benefit from their work.
8+ years of experience in Business and/or Product Strategy at a leading consumer technology and/or strategy consulting firm, AND Product innovation and/or system-level entrepreneurship at a leading venture development firm, tech corporate innovation lab, startup accelerator/incubator, or venture capital firm
Knowledge of entrepreneurship and/or product innovation best practices
Experience in mission-driven innovation and product
Proven strategic, hypothesis-driven, and structured thinking
Knowledge of drivers and trends within within technology
Experience shifting priorities, while maintaining organization and control
Experience partnering with cross-functional leadership to turn insights into actions
Experience working in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
Experience in a similar role and at an Internet-based company
