We believe messaging will be the main way people communicate with businesses. Why? Shift to messaging: People have switched to messaging apps, and businesses are starting to follow. Research shows that 64% of people prefer to message a business (vs. call or email) and rate the effectiveness of messaging a business much higher vs. phone. The opportunity is huge: 2 billion person to business communications happen each day, mostly through legacy channels like phone or email. Trends are favorable: Markets with high messaging adoption (e.g. India, Indonesia, Thailand) and younger demographics use messaging to communicate with a business nearly as often as they use phone or email. Businesses are seeing ROI: Messaging drives greater efficiency vs. phone, drives increased conversions, and improves customer satisfaction. The Messenger Business team is responsible for growing this ecosystem through product experiences that enable person-to-business communication on Messenger and Instagram Direct. This includes first party SMB tools, APIs for developers, and consumer facing experiences. Our team is also responsible for monetizing Messenger, which is not only a significant line of business for the company, including one of the fastest growing ad products at Facebook, but also a critical driver in growing messaging between people and businesses. We’re looking for a strong Product Management Lead to join our team to help solve people to business messaging and monetization problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong consumer and business product background and is able develop product strategy balancing the needs of people and businesses. Given the nature of our products, this role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams at Facebook Inc. With product areas still in the 0-1 phase of finding scalable product-market-fit, this position requires entrepreneurial drive, the ability to develop plans with ecosystem partners, and a rigorous, analytical approach to problem solving.

Product Management Lead, Messenger Business Responsibilities
  • Lead a team through the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative products
  • Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution
  • Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers and designers
  • Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products
  • Understand Facebook’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized best in the industry
  • Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in product management or similar positions, including people management
  • Experience presenting to senior executive audiences
  • Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience using data to drive rigorous product strategy
  • BA/BS Degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a consumer focused technology company
  • 3+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or business strategy/planning
  • MBA
