In order to enable the next generation of AR/VR experiences on world-class AR/VR hardware and software we also need to provide the next generation of developer tools to build them. We’re looking for someone to be responsible for our internal developer productivity and sentiment, from CI to IDEs to debuggers to compilers. A seasoned Engineering Manager that can seize the opportunity of having access to the whole stack, from software to hardware, to provide the best developer experience possible.

Manager, Software Engineering, AR/VR – Developer Infrastructure Responsibilities
  • Help build and lead our developer infrastructure strategy to deliver world-class products and services.
  • Work cross-functionally to design solutions that work across Oculus' product offerings.
  • Leverage and contribute to IDE and toolchain projects across the industry.
  • Champion engineering and operations, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement.
  • Establish a solid project framework and development processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers.
  • Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
  • Experience building infrastructure for developers for mobile or web development.
  • Proven track record of building and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting, coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers.
  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, and leveraging data to make engineering and product decisions.
  • Experience architecting, developing, and launching software products and/or services.
  • Experience with C/C++/Java/PHP or comparable language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in building or extending any of the following: Xcode, IntelliJ, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, LLVM, and/or GNU.
  • Experience in Windows, Linux, MAC and/or Android.
  • Experience with game engines such as Unreal, Unity, or others.
