Associate Systems Administrator at Workfront

This career level position will require a highly skilled and motivated individual to own an environment. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate IT, the Administrator role will be an integral part of the team expected to assist our efforts to leave manual, labor intensive processes behind and reach our goal of automation and managing infrastructure through automation. They will mentor more junior members while showing exemplary knowledge and skills in system operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively provide solutions to technical challenges
  • Lead various maintenance and innovation based projects.
  • Script with languages such as Bash / Python / Powershell / Ruby
  • Deep understanding and experience with configuration management tools 
  • Develop highly repeatable processes and resilient services
  • Designing, deploying, managing a variety of systems and platforms in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with monitoring tools eg. Nagios, SolarWinds, New Relic, etc.
  • Document processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Uses Workfront application to manage all projects under minimal supervision. Utilizes best practices such as setting specific requirements, milestones, evaluating vendors, and proving vendor claims via proof of concepts.
  • Guides the improvement of both systems and processes and the steps necessary to execute.
  • Acts as an escalation point for the Help Desk. Mentors co-workers into discovering root causes and discovering solutions and establishing best practices. Creates weekly knowledge base articles for discussion during weekly solution review and provides constructive feedback. Participates in the help desk training by instructing on more advanced topics.
  • Submits change requests with all necessary information. Meets in Corp IT change preview to discuss changes and advises of potential impacts. Executes changes after they are approved by CAB.
  • Participates in vulnerability remediation by evaluating discovered vulnerabilities for accuracy, ability for remediation, and severity. Plans the remediation, updates servers and resources or contacts resource administrators to notify them of necessary updates.
  • Participate in on-call rotation

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of Systems Engineering/DevOps experience in enterprise organization 
  • MCSE, CCNA, or similar certifications desirable
