Cloud Security Engineer, DevSecOps at Varonis Systems

Varonis is seeking an experienced DevSecOps or Cloud Security Engineer for a rapidly growing team. You will be responsible for multi-functional data security innovation and execution our cloud production systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the creation and ensuring the secure production and delivery of the company’s solutions.


  • Deliver solutions, architectures and automation to secure Varonis Application infrastructure in Azure cloud provider
  • Building secure DevOps architecture patterns and provide prescriptive guidance on how to secure network, operation systems, services, etc.
  • Conduct POC to evaluate efficiency of application development and CI/CD securit.
  • Represent SecDevOps in design reviews and work cross-functionally with various team to meet security operational readiness.
  • Maintain and improve existing security tools and measures.


  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Security Engineer.
  • Subject matter expert on leading multiple cyber security projects.
  • Audit and remediate secure configuration and operation of cloud networks, load balancers, microservices security, DNS security and application firewall technologies.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps toolbox and technologies, scripting, and automation for containerized applications.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of Intrusion Prevention Systems, Firewalls, PKI and associated best practices for securing internet facing
  • Ability to use a wide variety of technologies and cloud services such as Azure Service Fabric, Event Hub, Azure SQL, Blobs, etc…
  • Demonstrating and understanding of networking in a production environment (Advanced routing, IPsec tunnels, GRE, policy base routing, DDos protection)
  • Basic understanding in log analytics and traffic analysis such as Azure Sentinel, Azure log analytics
  • Familiar with Secure SDLC approaches and guidelines, compliance readiness such as DSS-PCI, HIPPA, etc…
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible or an equivalent
  • Basic experience with R&D tools and process
  • Experience in securing consumer facing production environments
  • Knowledge of code and scripts (Power Shell, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
  • Acquaintance with CI/CD tools and version control tools (e.g Jenkins, Git, Nexus/Artifactory)
