Who We Are

The teams in Twitter’s Trust & Safety (T&S) department work to safeguard the user’s voice in balance with manageable risk through policy enforcement that promotes trust in Twitter. Areas of focus include privacy and intellectual property rights, government and law enforcement requests, advertising policies, and safety advocacy.

 

The Ads Policy team is responsible for the policies that apply to Twitter’s advertising products. We work closely with Twitter’s Legal, Product, Ad Operations, and Sales teams around the full life cycle of a policy - from initial legal and regulatory research, to implementation at scale, to re-evaluation in response to incidents. 

 

What You’ll Do

As a member of our Singapore team, you will research, draft, evaluate, propose, and publish policies governing ads on and off of the Twitter platform. You will work on globally applicable policies, but also focus on becoming an expert on nuances particular to the Asia-Pacific region. You will also advise and assist internal stakeholders on various issues from explaining Twitter’s position on ads to providing guidance on approaching questions of ad targeting.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Research, draft, and publish advertising policies
  • Document and explain team policies and processes clearly and intelligibly to Twitter employees, advertisers, and other third parties
  • Coordinate projects and streamline communications among local/distributed teammates and stakeholders to meet deadlines, produce necessary work product, and achieve team goals
  • Become an expert on Asia-Pacific regional Ads Policy matters and keep the global team updated and informed accordingly
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders in Legal, Sales, Product, Public Policy and other areas of the company.

 

Qualifications

  • Understanding of Twitter and familiarity with Twitter Ads
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and organizational skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the online advertising space and its associated policy issues
  • Proactively recognize needs, solve problems, anticipate issues, and develop solutions
  • Able to collaborate with a multicultural and global team of stakeholders who may (at times) have competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and assertive – the ability to hunt down answers and drive solutions autonomously.
  • Patience, independence, resilience, flexibility, curiosity, and grit
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing, rapid growth, fun environment. 

 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working on policy issues, preferably in digital advertising
  • B.A/B.S. or equivalent education/experience
  • Complete fluency in English. Additional fluency in Mandarin is strongly preferred.
