Lead Motion Designer, Design Systems at Twitter

Twitter is committed to serving the public conversation by helping users stay informed, inform others and discuss what matters. You will join a cross-functional team of product designers, creatives and technologists helping to set Twitter's strategic design vision. The design systems team collaborates closely with Marketing, Product Design, Content Strategy, Research, Product and Engineering partners to develop compelling and effective design solutions that scale across web and mobile experiences. In this role you will have the opportunity to craft a unified motion and interaction language across both narrative content and functional interfaces that will help define the Twitter experience for our customers.


Who You Are:

You are an experienced motion designer with deep knowledge of ui and interaction design. You are capable of crafting a story over a complex product landscape, and collaborating with diverse teams on product challenges. You enjoy partnering with and mentoring team members in adjacent fields. You have created flexible frameworks for motion design that allow your ideas to scale across many hands while fostering an inclusive, iterative creative culture that enables fresh ideas to thrive.



  • 6+ years in motion graphics industry
  • Advanced skills in animation, video editing, audio composition, and 3d modeling using software such as (but not limited to) Adobe CC, Cinema 4D, Final Cut Pro 
  • Detail oriented with a strong collaborative work style
  • Mastery of color theory, typography, and frame composition
  • Proven experience developing motion design guidelines for brand redesigns or new brand development
  • Success working with both marketing and digital product teams on large initiatives
  • Ability to develop and articulate design concepts from storyboard to final execution
  • Expert organizational, time management and communication skills
  • Must provide an accessible demo reel/online portfolio to be considered for the role
