Intern - Business Intelligence & Data at GLG

The ideal candidate will be an SME in the areas of business intelligence, data structure and statistics, with hands-on experience with improvement initiatives. You will leverage data, , and analytics to help define new ways to evaluate, visualize and predict to understand outcome and decisions on how to improve GLG’s processes in many business domains. The candidate needs experience with business intelligence, and analytics, while strong attention on details and focus on accuracy.

Specific Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of historical data to help automate and optimize key processes
  • Assist monthly management reports and ad hoc reports
  • Developing and executing processes for monitoring, maintaining, improving and restoring quality in our database
  • Support data ETL requests and/or other operational tasks from internal stakeholders

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • University students working towards a bachelor or master degree in a reputable university any of the quantitative fields, statistics/finance or computer science
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of analytical tools and ways of presenting data
  • Strong technical expertise regarding data models and database structure with SQL skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, e.g. PowerPoint, Excel - Excellent analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as R, Python is preferred
  • Able to join as soon as possible and attend minimum of three months internship period
  • Able to work 4 days a week
