Quality Engineer - Consulting Member of Technical Staff

Provide vision, create, and implement a quality program in R&D and Manufacturing environment from ground up Identify/create relevant policies and procedures pertinent to R&D and manufacturing environment.
Select and implement quality software including document control
Track and report on key quality metrics and drive improvements through Quality Initiatives Manage change control, issue containment, and implementation of corrective actions, lead 8D, CAPA.
Work with development and process engineers to identify and prevent quality risks through control plans, statistical methods, and robust inspection and metrology
Work with our supply team to establish processes for incoming material control and manage supplier quality issues including compliance documentation
Collaborate with various teams to support and document the conformity of incoming raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related Physical Sciences
Minimum 10 plus years of work experience in Quality
Experience in battery, automotive, or manufacturing environment
Experience in leading the full-cycle implementation of Quality Management Systems such as ISO9000 IATF16949, and other quality systems
Able to work independently with minimum supervision
Ability to excel in fast-paced production environments and to navigate ambiguity
Self-starter who will bring a Quality Vision to a new organization
Proficiency with statistical process control and strong data analysis skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to propose solutions and justifications to technical teams
High standards in ethics, safety, teamwork, and execution
Must have a pleasant personality and can-do work attitude
JMP, and SQL proficiency are a plus
Higher degree in materials, chemical engineering
15 plus years of experience
Experience working within a battery or automotive operations and/or manufacturing teams.
Practical knowledge of six sigma methodologies is a plus.
Experience working in multi-functional teams delivering breakthrough process improvements.
Experience of leading junior staff members
May work with airtight isolation chambers and/or wear neoprene or vinyl gloves for 15-30% of the time. May frequently reach above shoulder heights and below the waist.
