About the Team:

 

This role is a key technical contributor role within our Geo Apps team and will report to VP, Engineering. Our Geo Apps team has several areas of responsibility, including cloud-hosted data processing pipeline that services our network of drones and includes services such as photogrammetry, data processing and ingestion pipelines, machine learning, data analytics, and geospatial modeling. Our photogrammetry pipeline is one of the largest aerial photogrammetry pipelines in production.

 

As a Sr. DevOps Engineer, you will be expected to work on the orchestration layer as well as write service-level code for our data processing and ingestion pipelines.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Architect and implement components of our processing pipeline, with a focus on our photogrammetry service
  • Use both technical and relational skills to lead large scale projects to completion
  • Collaborate with other engineers on the team to promote solid engineering principles
  • Help the team embrace tools and processes for rapid, high-quality code through continuous integration and deployment
  • Leverage your experience to guide the team on best practices 

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • Strong background in running production services on AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform
  • Strong object-oriented programming experience with a passion for creating reusable, scalable code. Experience programming with Python preferred
  • Experience with photogrammetry/geospatial tooling, such as Agisoft or Pix4D is a major plus
  • Highly collaborative, with experience working in cross-functional, Agile teams having delivered multiple successful product releases and/or deployments
  • 5+ years experience as a backend engineer
