We’re seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to build and scale the teams and technologies of our Observability Platform! This is a pivotal role as New Relic builds out our new Utah presence and team.
You will lead a strategy that powers our existing monitoring products while developing a platform for modern observability.

What You’ll Do
Develop and execute a vision to build or transform the systems you are responsible for within our next-generation platform.
Pioneer and champion new technologies in the diverse observability space.
Assemble and lead a new engineering team in the beautiful state of Utah.
Facilitate career progression of your direct reports (Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers) by providing feedback and identifying new opportunities to help them grow.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Program Managers, and other engineering leaders to coordinate development across multiple teams and groups.
Minimum 5 years experience leading engineering teams, including leading managers and architects
Minimum 10 years experience in Software Engineering (including applicable academic experience)
Experience leading teams responsible for deploying and supporting their own systems in a critical, large scale production environment
Expertise with operating highly available systems and incident management
Leadership experience on a highly collaborative agile team
Experience with on-premise and cloud infrastructures, including hybrid environments and migrations across environments.
