You'll spend your time on the following:

  • Work on moving our current system to a cloud based modern data lake

  • Engineer new methods for data maintenance, querry and storage

  • Help define the next generation of data for our company in an exciting fast paced environment

  • Maintain and administer the Teradata and/or Hadoop infrastructure

  • Maintain and administer Snowflake and Dremio Systems

  • Troubleshoot and maintain SQL 

  • Responsible for operational activities of a Database Administrator such as System monitoring, User Management, Space Management, Performance Management, Troubleshooting, and Batch/user support.

  • Maintain access and security administration policies.

  • Work closely with the Development & Operations teams to provide technical guidance and recommend solutions.

  • Monitor activity on Viewpoint, DBA processes and troubleshoot alerts

We're excited about you if you have:

  • Knowledge and background in data lakes

  • Knowledge of modern cloud based systems 

  • Knowledge and Experience of AWS and S3

  • Sound knowledge of Teradata and Hadoop architecture and system management

  • Experience with Teradata Workload management & monitoring, Architecture, and query optimization

  • Expertise with system monitoring using viewpoint and logs

  • Proficient in analyzing the performance and optimizing at different levels.

  • Ability to create advanced system-level capacity reports as well as root cause analysis

  • Understand and adhere to security policies, procedures and audits

  • Working with Vendors on database/data lake incidents.

  • experience in writing complex SQL queries including ANSI, SnowSQL and TSQL

  • Must have a sound understanding of Data warehousing concepts

  • Proficiency in Unix scripting

  • Excellent Problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field and/or a combination of equivalent experience

  • Ability to work in self directed manner with minimal supervision

  • Five or more years of experience in a professional technical capacity or three or more years with a MS.

  • Limited Travel up to 10% of the role may be required

  • On call/night/weekends may be necessary as part of this role
