Job Summary:

Reputation.com is seeking a self-motivated Senior Manager, Technical Accounting and Compliance is a key role for the accounting and finance team and regraded as a technical expert, actively involved in leading or participating in initiatives that support Reputation.com’s business strategy. The ideal candidate will be conducting accounting research, drafting accounting policies and memorandums, partnering with other departments on complex contracts, and providing technical support to members of the Finance and Accounting management team. In addition, s/he will have oversight for maintaining internal controls in accordance with US GAAP and SOX and help the regional controllers in the proper design of controls and remediation of deficiencies.

Responsibilities:

    Review complex transactions, research technical accounting issues and prepare technical memos.
    Experience in the following accounting areas: revenue recognition, factoring/supply chain management, leases, business combinations, goodwill and long-lived assets impairment assessment, stock-based compensation, variable interest entities foreign currency transactions.
    Participate in the financial statement close process by acting as the end reviewer of all technical accounting entries, supporting workpapers, and adhering to established reporting timelines.
    Serve as SME for countries in the identification of risks, design of internal controls, remediation of control deficiencies in accordance with SOX.
    Identify and implement opportunities to improve and streamline internal control processes.
    Work cross-functionally with Commercial Finance, Internal Audit, Legal, FP&A, and other business partners in analyzing complex transactions.
    Support financial statement and internal controls audits.
    Assist in the preparation of certain financial statement disclosures.
    Work with the Global Controllers Group on ad-hoc projects.
    Perform technical accounting and SEC reporting research and document the Company’s conclusions in technical whitepapers.
    Monitor accounting literature for new reporting requirements that may potentially impact the Company and lead the implementation of new accounting standards.
    Prepare quarterly accounting and regulatory update presentations for the Company’s Audit Committee.
    Work closely with key stakeholders in the development, revision and maintenance of the Company’s Financial Policies & Procedures.
    Act as a liaison with internal and external auditors on matters involving technical accounting, internal controls, financial policies and SEC reporting.
    Participate and/or lead various Corporate Finance & Accounting projects to improve the overall efficiency, timeliness and accuracy of financial close processes.
    Focus on Corporate Finance & Accounting talent management efforts through attraction, development and retention of key talent across the department.
    Develop and disseminate technical accounting guidance and clearly and logically document the results of research and complex analyses and related conclusion.
    Provide transaction-oriented accounting and reporting assistance.
    Ensure the proper application of U.S. GAAP and assisting the financial reporting team with the preparation of financial reports and disclosures.
    Develop and oversee the implementation of new accounting standards and accounting policies.
    Participate in due diligence with regard to mergers and acquisitions.
    Additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
    CPA required.
    7+ years of experience in public accounting and/or external financial reporting for a public company.
    Extensive knowledge of SEC reporting requirements.
    High level of knowledge with ASC 606 and 842 in a SaaS environment

    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Rated top 25% of Big Four class.
    3 or more years of prior supervisory experience.
    Proven solid verbal and written communication skills.
    Passion for helping clients with a strong interest in technical accounting.
    Experience writing complex technical accounting position papers.
    Aptitude for technical accounting research and self-education, desire to learn and be an expert.
    Experience and familiarity with technology industries preferred.
    Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills.
    Should be well versed in the application of GAAP, with experience relating to such areas as: business combinations, revenue recognition, lease accounting, asset impairments, stock-based compensation, segment reporting, and debt accounting.
    Demonstrates expertise in appropriate accounting treatment and reporting policies of routine and complex transactions.
    Able to consistently make decisions in a timely manner based on the best available information and under tight deadlines and pressure.
    Comfortable challenging organizational norms and accepted thinking to improve effectiveness.
    Team player that has the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of management in a non-technical manner.
    Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
    Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and manage such projects to a timely and successful completion.
