In this role as an Manager, Mobile Research Engineering at data.ai, you will be leading a team responsible for the further development and innovation of data.ai’s mobile data collection technologies. With your detailed knowledge of Mobile OS, Apps, SDKs and networking protocols, you’ll help data.ai gain deep insights that fuel our data science models to create best-in-class market analysis.

In this position, you will be:

• Leading a team of engineers, by showing your technical leadership and helping them grow professionally
• Working with a multidisciplinary team (mobile developers, data analysts, data engineers, product managers and data scientists) creating technical solutions that are built to last
• Deep-diving into the iOS operating system internals and SDKs to create solutions to improve and streamline our data collection pipeline
• Debugging and analyzing network protocols to deconstruct app behavior
• Having a deep understanding of Swift, Objective-C and iOS in general, with the ability to debug and tear apart compiled binaries
• Leading architectural design discussions and the technical roadmap by always asking yourself: how can we do this better, faster, more sustainably and more efficiently?
• Lead team participating in the full development lifecycle, from technical design to release and beyond
• Working closely with product managers and data scientists as your peers, spotting new business opportunities and driving new customer value
• Estimating, planning and executing projects together with the team

You should recognize yourself in the following...

• BS/MS in a Computer Science related field or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of iOS mobile development experience - Android is a plus!
• You know your tools and you’re not afraid to use them (e.g., Wireshark, proxy tools, decompilers)
• Experience with network programming (VPNs, socket programming), Python, and/or C/C++ is a plus!
• Experience with jailbreaking, rooting, and/or device automation is a strong plus!
• Having a security background and/or experience with reverse-engineering iOS applications is a strong plus!
